Lebanon Construction Permits: July 2026 Update

By Baitiq•

Credit Libanais’ Economic Research Unit reported on October 5 that permitted construction area reached 5,217,715 square metres in January–July 2026, an increase of 0.53% from the same period in 2025. July alone accounted for 843,206 square metres, compared with 764,664 in June.

Mount Lebanon represented 46.82% of the permitted area, followed by the North at 24.81%. These shares describe where planned construction is concentrated; they do not measure completed apartments or homes currently available to buy.

Baitiq context: use permit data as a signal of the development pipeline. When comparing a new project with a completed property, check construction progress and the delivery schedule separately. National permit totals cannot establish the asking price or rental prospects of a particular building.
